Get Zip Oyster cards for under-11s — free travel on all TfL transport. Travel off-peak (after 9:30am) to avoid crush. Most major London museums are FREE permanently (Natural History, Science, British Museum, V&A, Tate Modern). Buy annual memberships for ZSL, Kew, Hampton Court and London Transport Museum — they pay for themselves after 2 visits. Under-11s travel free on all TfL transport. Many West End theatre productions offer Kids Week in August (children's tickets for £1). Always check for family railcard savings on day trip trains.
London Rainy Day Strategy
London gets ~600mm of rain per year — embrace it. The free museums are perfect for grey days (Natural History, Science Museum, British Museum all have cafés and are pram-friendly). Soft play centres, bowling, escape rooms and libraries are your best paid alternatives. South Bank is walkable with a good buggy — Gabriel's Wharf has covered seating. Borough Market for a rainy morning food adventure.
